Our iPads got a workout as we helped more than 120 people per hour register their votes — 571 in total.

Students will participate in a totally hands-on session, focusing specifically on the intermediate functions of this tool.

Topics covered:

• Creating and editing tracks.
• Using the loop browser.
• Editing notes in software instrument loops.
• Making ringtones for iPhone.

Students should come prepared with a basic understanding of the functionality of this tool.

Students bringing their own laptops must have the software pre-loaded, and OS X 10.6 pre-installed. Students should already have basic Mac skills.

The AAF-BR consists of local professionals based in the fields of advertising, sales promotion, public relations, marketing, production and the buying or selling of advertising. We are an affiliate of the American Advertising Federation, the only national organization representing the interests of the entire advertising community. For decades, the AAF-BR has been a valuable and dedicated community partner. We organize club-wide food drives, produce public service advertising campaigns and provide scholarships and a variety of educational opportunities for LSU, Southern University and other local students. We also hold an annual ADDY® Awards show. To top it off, the federation has won the District 7 Division III Club of the Year eleven (11) times. We are also a three (3)-time winner of the Division III Club of the Year, named by the National organization.

About the AAF’s Parent Organization

The American Advertising Federation (AAF), headquartered in Washington, D.C., acts as the “Unifying Voice for Advertising.” Celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2005, the AAF is the oldest national advertising trade association that represents 50,000 professionals in the advertising industry. The AAF has a national network of 200 ad clubs located in ad communities across the country. Allen Hancock founded Hancock Consulting, Inc. in January 2000, and changed the corporation’s name to Mac Consulting Group, Inc. in 2008 as the company began to grow into bigger and bigger offices.

Allen started his professional Macintosh support career started at the University of Missouri, where he and his boss & mentor Alan Marshall were responsible for supporting and maintaining the 400 macintosh computers which ran the Biology Department.

As the Macintosh platform has grown, so have the Mac Consulting Group’s offerings.

From On-Site consulting and repair, we added on warranty support as an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

From there we added the Apple Authorized Reseller aspect to the company, as there was no other easy venue in Baton Rouge to procure Apple branded equipment.

It was not long before we were designated Apple Specialist, and upper tier of Resellers who provide both quality Sales and Service.

In 2009, we made a return to education by adding on the designation of Apple Authorized Training Center. We are proud to bringing Apple knowledge to all our clients, from the IT Administrator to the film editor, to the everyday Mac user.

I am glad Apple has opened up a store here in Baton Rouge.

They have hired some excellent people, and I have heard nothing but good feedback from my clients who have visited the store.

I am frequently asked:

“Have I gone?”

Yes. The business manager invited me over, and we had a great meeting. I look forward working with their staff on shared projects.

“Aren’t they just competition?”

No. There are more than enough Apple users in town to keep us both busy. Our focuses are different too.  While the Mac Consulting Group is a reseller, and would love to sell you whatever Apple product you need, our focus is On Site work: consulting and repairs.

“Where should I buy my next Apple computer?”
