Here are the steps to setup your iPhone with your new Kerio Mail Server.
Please Note:
Anytime you see “yourname@yourdomain.com” you should enter the settings for your own mailserver, not “yourdomain.com”.
The Very First Step in setting up your iPhone is to plug it into your primary computer and back it up into iTunes.
If you have never done this, or you are unsure of what’s been synced where, we advise you to stop now, and get assistance from the server’s administrator.
While your iPhone is visible in iTunes, go to the Info tab, and Disable the syncing of Mail Accounts
Once this is done, we’ll Start by launching the iPhone’s “Settings” application:
Go to “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”

Tap Add Account…

Choose Microsoft Exchange account
(if you get “Account Already Exists”, that means that one of the accounts on your iPhone already has a Microsoft Exchange account, this account will have to be deleted to proceed. Please stop and call us before you remove any information)

Email = yourname@yourdomain.com
Domain = [Blank]
Username = yourname@yourdomain.com
Password = your password

then tap Next at the top.
After a delay, a new page will come up with your email being the first option. (That will already be filled in.) Then…
server = [enter your mail server address as provided by our server admin]
for Mac Consulting Group clients, the server address is mail.mcghosting.com
Leave the domain field blank
Username: [your full email address including the @ sign]
Password: your password
Description: We recommend using your company name
Then tap Next again.
You will then have a choice of what information you’d like to sync:
Mail: we find that IMAP works better, we’ll set that up later, so leave it disabled for now.
Contacts: Enable this if you are NOT using MobileMe, and if you have Entourage or the Kerio Sync Connector installed. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE, STOP AND REQUEST ASSISTANCE.
Calendar: This works very well, and your Server based calendars will be added in next to your local or MobileMe calendars. There is little risk in enabling Calendars.
If you are choosing to sync Contacts, we recommended deleting existing contacts off your phone when asked, which is why a backup first is so critical.
IMAP based Mail setup:
Next we setup your email:
In “Settings” chose Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Select “Add Account…”
In the mail accounts, add an “Other” account.

Select “Add Mail Account” under “Mail”

Name = your name
address = yourname@yourdomain.com
password = your password
Description =This time we’ll use “Your Mail”
Then Press “Save”
Choose IMAP
Name = Your Name
Address = yourname@yourdomain.com
Description= whatever you want (Your Mail)
Host Name= mail.mcghosting.com
User Name = yourname@yourdomain.com
Password= your password
Scroll down…
Outgoing mail server
Host Name = mail.mcghosting.com
Username = yourname@yourdomain.com
Password= your password
Tap Save. If there is a delay or error on the phone, check again for typos.
Once you are back at the list of accounts,
Tap into the account with the “description” you just used to set up the for ex. Remember ours was “My Mail”.
Go down to Advanced
Tap on Drafts Mailbox, make sure Drafts is selected on the server.
Then Go back to Advanced
Tap on Sent Mailboxes, then choose Sent Items from the Server list
Then Go Back to Advanced
Tap on Deleted Mailbox, choose Deleted Items on the Server (not Deleted Messages)
Security:
Now that this is all done, we highly recommend you enable password security on your iPhone.
Back in the General preferences, tap on Passcode Lock. Enter your 4 digit pin twice.
We enjoy the balance of security & convenience of requiring a password after 5 minutes.
