An account with Logmein.com – either via our subscription, or via your own free account – allows you the same abilities to control your own computers remotely.

Remote Access from your iPhone or iPad
With the LogMeIn application installed, it is possible to see & control your computers from your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch:
With either the free LogMeIn app, or the more advanced LogMeIn Ignition you will be able to remotely access your computer from anywhere you have an internet connection. Email yourself that file you needed, or purchase a Pro2 client subscription, and send a receive files directly!

- Can I also access my computer when I’m away from it?[Yes!]
- Yes! Once your computer is registered with LogMeIn we can assign you access to your computer. As you accept that invitation, you will be prompted by Logmein to create a password. From then on, simply go to logmein.com from any computer, and log in with your email address and the password you created for logmein. At that point, you will see a list of the computers you can access. Click on the computer you want to control, and you’ll be prompted to enter that computer’s username and password.
- How much does LogMeIn cost me?[Nothing]
- Nothing, unless you want a Pro2 subscription for your computer.
- Do I need a Pro2 subscription?[No]
- For simple screen sharing, a Pro2 subscription is not needed. A Pro2 Client subscription does offer some benefits which you may choose. The ability to share files from you and iPhone/iPad, print from your remote computer to the local printer, or share your screen to someone else. The cost for Pro2 is $69 a year, billed through the Mac Consulting Group, Inc. (Personal Support members enjoy their standard 5.5% discount on Pro2 clients as well.)
- Does the Mac Consulting Group, Inc. require me to use LogMeIn?[No]
- Not at all. We can provide effective remote support using TeamViewer: a product which requires you to invite us to see your screen each time. More information on Teamviewer at our Remote Support Page
- How do I know if someone is viewing my computer?[It's easy]
- Any time a remote user attempts to control a computer using LogMeIn, the LogMeIn software displays a notice, and the local user of the computer has an opportunity to stop the connection.
- What if I don’t want others to be able to access my computer anymore?
- The LogMeIn software has a menu item. This can be used to temporarily disable remote access. There is also an uninstaller left in the computer’s Applications folder. The LogMeIn software requires the remote user to know the Username and Password on the computer they want to control. Because of this, if you change your computer’s password, you will still be able to access your own computer using LogMeIn, while keeping others out.
